Border Area Syrian and Afghani and Pakistani refugees streaming into Europe since 2015 have roiled politics and inflamed debate. But Europe’s newest arrivals are just the latest of many waves of immigrants since World War II, when Europe became home to a third of the world’s immigrants and now the continent has foreign - born populations comparable to that of the United States. Zoltán Molnár travelled through Eastern Europe to tell the stories of the ‘Border Area’ – between Hungary and Serbia, between Austria and Slovenia, between Hungary and Croatia and other places such as in an abandoned customs warehouse in Belgrade and on the street in Budapest.
It is impossible to predict the direction of the events; neither the progress of the conflict in Syria nor the protection of the planned European border.

Zöldhatár A 2015. óta Európába áramló szíriai, afgán és pakisztáni bevándorlók tömegei alaposan fölkavarták a politikai életet és heves vitákat gerjesztettek. A jelenleg Európába érkezők azonban csak a legújabb hullámai annak a második világháború óta tartó menekültáradatnak, amelynek során Európa lett a világ bevándorlói egyharmadának az új otthona. Mára a kontinensen született, de idegen gyökerekkel rendelkezők aránya megközelíti az Egyesült Államokban élő, hasonlóan idegenből származó állampolgárokét. Molnár Zoltán fotográfus végigutazta Kelet-Európa határait, hogy képekben mutassa meg a határvidék történeteit – Szerbia és Magyarország, Ausztria és Szlovénia, valamint Magyarország és Horvátország határterületein fotózott, emellett képeket készített egy elhagyott belgrádi vámházban valamint Budapest utcáin.
A folyamat alakulását megjósolni nem lehet, így azt sem tudni előre, hogy hogyan alakul a szíriai konfliktus, illetve a tervezett európai határvédelem.
